February 2, 2026 ~ Lucy Ann Lance is joined by Michigan State Senator Ruth Johnson (R-24th Senate District) / Former Michigan Secretary of State. Federal law requires citizenship in order to vote in a federal election, but that law does not apply to state and local elections. Last November noncitizens were able to vote illegally in Michigan, including a Chinese student attending the University of Michigan, as well as at least 15 more noncitizens who cast ballots in our elections. A petition drive is underway to amend the Michigan Constitution to clearly state that only U.S. citizens may vote in state and local elections.
