The Manistee County Tourism Authority has been recognized for having the best beach in Michigan, with USA Today awarding this title through a popular vote. The beach offers a variety of amenities including playgrounds, ball fields, concessions, and rentals, making it an immersive experience for visitors. Despite being a small town of 6,000 people, Manistee stands out for its historical downtown, indigenous culture, casino, camping, and annual events like the Victorian sleigh bell parade. The region boasts 25 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, inland lakes, rivers, and streams, providing ample fishing and recreational activities.
